Volume 8
The Ottawa Colouring Book for Anyone has made it into it’s 8th year!
Cover art: Mayumai
Every year the OCBFA partners with A.R.T. In Action to distribute funds to support mental-health and arts-based initiatives and organizations that lead them.
A.R.T. IN ACTION funds went to a 6 week hybrid poetry workshop for PoC held by Lukayo Estrella at Kind Space and online, as well as a $250 donation towards Mirror Mountain Film Festival in support of BEING studios (artists with disabilities). In addition, it funded a second writing workshop hosted at Origin by Nasim Asgari who headlined the House of PainT OG500 poetry slam this year. Thanks to the funds from OCFBA we were able to make this a pay-what-you-can event and remove the financial barrier of writers accessing this space to work on their craft. Poets were each able to craft three poems with Nasim’s guidance.
